Persephone Returns

Spring is nearly here, and after a long and not very snowy winter, I am looking forward to some color thrown around the world again.

I recently delivered a new series I am calling “A Trick of Light” to the ARTery Gallery in Milford, PA. Included in the series are the namesake piece ($575), as well as “Winter’s Edge” ($975), and 5 mini pieces, featuring Clouds at Play, 1-3; and “On Orphan’s School Road”, and “Daybreak”. The minis are framed in reclaimed Swedish Pine, and are priced at $125 each. All are available currently at ARTery.

In local news- my painting “Port Elizabeth” was accepted to the Lehigh Art Alliance Show “Scratching the Surface”, where it was awarded an honorable mention. The piece brought back memories of a series I left behind some 20 years ago at the end of my college days. I was working on paintings that explored the break in surface; the tension between the illusion of depth that paint can create, and the forward movement when the texture breaks the surface. It is a theme I will carry into the next show “Joy” at Gallery840 in Allentown. I was asked to join a group show there beginning in April. I am excited to be back downtown with new work to present.

Here’s to Persephone’s Return! Spring is welcome anytime she wants to make her entrance.
